Numerous reports over the weekend said Adam McKay was in early talks to helm Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man adaptation, or was close to signing a deal, or was already in the director’s chair. So the Anchorman director took to Twitter on Saturday to clear up the rumors:

The unconventional superhero tale starring Paul Rudd is in need of a director since Edgar Wright left the film last week. Wright — known for the Cornetto Trilogy and his adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World — issued a joint statement with Marvel announcing his departure over creative differences.
“A new director will be announced shortly,” the statement added. Until then, speculation continues.
