Watch the video for 'Pagan Baby' by California punk band Weatherbox

Posted on

Pagan Baby

“You heard we were a good band/Well, you didn’t hear it from us,” sings Weatherbox frontman Brian Warren in “Pagan Baby,” one of the standout songs from the band’s new album, Flies in All Directions. Anyone familiar with Weatherbox’s previous work knows such a statement is madness. Since the San Diego outfit debuted in 2007 with American Art, it has crafted reliably good, punk-inflected rock that recall greats like Samiam and Cursive. And The Replacements, for that matter: The video for “Pagan Baby” takes its inspiration from the ‘mats’ video for “Bastards of Young,” only the stereo speaker has been replaced by a computer screen (naturally).
