Miley Cyrus has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man who believes the singer is speaking to him through her songs.
A Los Angeles judge granted Cyrus a stay-away order against Devon Meek on Friday, reports The Associated Press. Los Angeles police arrested the Arizona resident on May 16 outside of a property believed to be owned by the pop star. In a sworn statement, one police detective wrote that Meek, 24, told officers they should shoot him in the head if he couldn’t meet Cyrus.
Meek has been placed in a psychiatric hospital, where he remains. According to filings by Cyrus’ attorneys, Meek has said he will continue to try to meet Cyrus once he is released.
A hearing to extend the restraining order is scheduled for June 16.
