Casting Net: Ellen Page in talks to play John Belushi's wife in biopic

• Ellen Page (Juno) is in talks to play John Belushi’s wife, Judith Jacklin, in the upcoming biopic of the late comedian’s life. Emile Hirsch (Lone Survivor) is set to star as Belushi in the Steve Conrad-directed and scripted pic. Page can be seen next as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: Days of Future Past (out May 23). Her spy-thriller Queen and Country also recently snagged a director in Craig Viveiros. [The Wrap]

Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson is in talks to play Johnny Depp‘s love interest in the Whitey Bulger pic Black Mass. Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) is directing the movie, which also stars Joel Edgerton and Guy Pearce. [Deadline]

• Omar Sy, who will be appearing alongside Ellen Page in X-Men: Days of Future Past, has joined the cast of Jurassic World. He tweeted the news Friday. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) is directing the pic (out June 12, 2015), which stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Ty Simpkins.


• Kathryn Hahn (Afternoon Delight) and Ed Oxenbould (Disney’s upcoming Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) will star in M. Night Shyamalan‘s Sundowning. Plot details are largely being kept under wraps, but it involves a single mother’s trip to her parents’ house with her two children. [The Wrap]

• Navid Negahban (Homeland), Eric Close (Nashville), and Eric Ladin (Boardwalk Empire) have signed on to Clint Eastwood‘s military drama American Sniper, starring Bradley Cooper. Filming is set to begin at the end of March in Morocco. [Deadline]

• James Caan will star as the father of a 35-year-old woman who is faking a pregnancy so that she can relate to her friends in PreggolandSonja Bennett (The Client List) wrote the script and stars in the Jacob Tierney-directed pic. [Variety]
