'Resurrection' ratings dip yet beat Sunday broadcast rivals

Posted on

Sunday night marked the week-two performances of two new dramas and the premiere of a brand new one: NBC’s Believe and ABC’s Resurrection had their second episodes, while NBC’s unveiled new hostage drama Crisis.

Among the second-week shows, both endured audience declines, but one is doing much better than the other. Resurrection fell 21 percent for its second episode among adults 18-49, which is a greater drop than a network wants to see. Still, the mystery drama was easily the night’s best-rated entertainment series on broadcast (numbers are not yet in for that other people-back-from-the-dead drama, AMC’s The Walking Dead, which you can bet was the night’s top-rated program overall). While NBC’s mystery thriller Believe fell 48 percent from its Monday preview episode, which had the benefit of an original Voice lead-in (last night’s Voice was a clip show). Believe did less than half the demo rating of Resurrection, as well. After Believe, NBC’s debuted new thriller Crisis, which got off to a very slow start, ranking second in the 10 p.m. hour. Fox’s Cosmos was only down 10 percent for its second week, which is pretty good. Full chart:
