Barack and Michelle Obama's greatest pop culture moments

On Tuesday, Funny or Die premiered a video of Zach Galifianakis interviewing President Obama in a Between Two Ferns sketch where Obama plugged Healthcare.gov. On Wednesday, traffic to the healthcare site has increased 40 percent.

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett went on CBS’ This Morning earlier to share the news of the video’s success. “The fact that the website traffic has gone up is really an indication that it’s working.” Look at that, viral videos changing lives!

Obama’s appearance on Galifianakis’ wacky series wasn’t the first time the president — or first lady Michelle — has used comedy as a way to reach Americans. He appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in 2012 to plug his student loans initiative, and Michelle frequently enlists celebrities to help promote her Let’s Move campaign. We’ve gathered some of their best appearances, including Michelle showing off her mom-moves for the sake of fitness and Barack opening SNL before he was POTUS:

Barack slow jams the news with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots

The “news” in this clip was that Obama was talking to Congress to prevent interest rates on student rates from doubling, and he delivered this news in a speech-ready voice as The Roots played soulful instrumentals behind him. Can every speech be like this?

Michelle and Fallon show us how to mom-dance

Even when mom-dancing, Michelle knows how to move. Uh, teach us how to Dougie?

Barack shows up in Saturday Night Live cold open

Amy Poehler and Darrell Hammond portrayed Hillary and Bill Clinton dressed for a Halloween party in a 2007 SNL skit. The big joke was the attendees’ various costumes — Bill Richardson as Al Gore, six different Matthew McConaugheys (McConaughey, always relevant) — and one of those costumes was someone dressed in one of those creepy Obama masks. The person removes the mask and — shocker — it’s Obama, who was beginning his presidential campaign at the time, himself. “I’m not going to change who I am just because it’s Halloween,” Obama says when they question his costume. His cameo is sadly short, but he does get to introduce the show, so that’s cool.

Michelle joins dance party on Fallon’s “Ew!” skit

Will Ferrell and Fallon are Harry Styles-loving teenage girls who freak out over the first lady in this clip. Michelle joins the two in their repeating chorus of “ews,” stars in a hilariously awkward dance party, and even plugs kale chips (somewhat) successfully.

Michelle and LeBron James photobomb a Miami Heat interview

First Lady’s got some skills: Some of the Miami Heat players are being interviewed about their eating habits for a Let’s Move promo when Michelle slam-dunks a portable hoop behind them and effectively interrupts the interview. Actually, all of the Let’s Move promos are gold, including Michelle and Will Ferrell’s focus group with kids.

Zach Galifianakis interviews Barack on Between Two Ferns

Galifianakis stages extremely awkward interviews for this web series, and his with Obama was no exception. There could have been a little less healthcare talk and more Bradley Cooper, but hey, we’ll take it.
