After John Travolta introduced Frozen singer Idina Menzel as “Adela Dazeem” during Sunday night’s Oscars telecast, the actor didn’t say anything about the incident for almost two days. Now he’s speaking out — and this time, he’s not leaving any room for a slip of the tongue.

In a written statement distributed by his publicist, Travolta writes: “I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought…what would Idina Menzel say, She’d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’ Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”

Travolta’s goof became an instant internet meme during Sunday’s show, inspiring an “Adela Dazeem” twitter account and teasing tweets from celebrities like Frozen costar Kristen Bell, who wrote:

“So proud of my friends @alittlejelee @lopezbobby @Lyrikris10 Chris buck, Peter Del Vecho& @idinamenzel (Adele Nazeem)for their wins tonight.”
