'The Voice' premiere ratings steady, no Olympics boost

The Voice

Despite all those ads pushing The Voice to tens of millions during the Olympics, the NBC singing competition didn’t see any improvement from last year. NBC’s two-hour premiere delivered 15.7 million viewers and a 4.7 rating among adults 18-49 on Monday night. That’s a fine number, though down a tad from last spring when the show wasn’t getting that extra marketing.

While NBC wasn’t helped by its Sochi coverage, Fox notably wasn’t helped by the lack of Olympics competition last night — Almost Human and The Following were both down a tenth from last week when they faced NBC’s coverage.

On CBS, the comedy block was all down between 5 and 22 percent from their last original episodes in early February, with HIMYM holding up the best and Mom dropping 21 percent to tie its series low. Intelligence was unchanged. ABC’s Bachelor perked up 9 percent, while Castle was steady. The CW’s Star-Crossed did not improve from last week’s launch. Full chart:
