To quote Nick Offerman’s meta Deputy Chief Hardy in the official red-band trailer for 22 Jump Street: “Nobody gave a sh– about the Jump Street reboot, but you got lucky. So now, this department has invested a lot of money to make sure Jump Street keeps going.”
And keep going it will after the surprising success of the 21 Jump Street reboot (and Channing Tatum as a comedic actor) last year, the boys are back to bust up another drug ring, this time as undergrads. Perhaps Jenko and Schmidt, a.k.a. almost-30-year-old Jonah Hill and 33-year-old Channing Tatum, will have a better time blending into the collegiate lifestyle than they did in high school. But according to one student — “You look old as sh– to be here” — perhaps not.
Set perfectly to Wallpaper.’s #STUPiDFACEDD, the trailer shows Ice Cube, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco also returning, the latter two sharing a jail cell (and a very special one-sided relationship). Check out the joke-filled trailer below:
22 Jump Street premieres in theaters June 13, 2014.
