Alfonso Cuaron is not keen on doing a sequel to his megahit movie Gravity. So much so, in fact, that the director has dreamed up an alternate ending for the movie that would squash any sequel hopes. How? [Spoiler alert!] By literally squashing the movie’s star, Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock), just as she reaches land for the first time — and not with a falling tree or a random meteorite, either.

“Sandra stands up, begins walking, and after the third step, suddenly something comes like at high speed from the sky, crushing her… and it’s George Clooney,” Cuaron joked in a phone interview with EW. “Yeah, that would be the alternate ending so there’s no question about a sequel.”

That means no franchise for Dr. Stone, sadly. Although Cuaron hopes it won’t be his last time working with Bullock. Asked if he’d like to reteam with her, the director says, “In a second. I enjoy the collaboration. I trust her fully, and I think we earned each other’s trust.”
