Six stars remained, and head judge Len Goodman returned, tragically not wearing one of Cher’s discarded costumes from her bleep-inducing stint as guest judge last week. (Did you know Len’s on Twitter as “@GrumpyLGoodman“? I’m a bit disappointed he didn’t go with his vanity license plate, DANCMSTR, instead.)
It’s Dance Trio night! (Update: My full recap is now liiiiiiiiive!) Each couple danced one solo and one sexy threesome. And the eliminated couple is…
Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Uh oh! Yet again, a technically proficient dancer went home following a very high-scoring night. Elizabeth and Val earned 56 out of 60 possible points and were the second-best couple of the night behind Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff. They even won a perfect 30 for their ab-tacular salsa trio with Gleb Savchenko.
Meanwhile, Bill Engvall and Emma Slater — by far the lowest-scoring pair of the night with only 41 out of 60 points — landed “in jeopardy” but were not necessarily in the bottom two.
“That’s not right,” mouthed a stunned Carrie Ann Inaba.
Elizabeth said she’s “beyond grateful for this” experience and wanted to thank everyone… “Especially Val. I’ve learned so much as a human being from our partnership.”
“Celebrate yourself! Believe in yourself!” Val urged his partner. “She came in shy and timid and now she’s grown into this amazing woman — again.”
“We don’t need a trophy,” said Val. “I just want you to love yourself.”
Pretty heavy stuff! Are you shocked? (I’m not!)
