The CW’s Vampire Diaries spin-off rose in the ratings Tuesday night to deliver its strongest performance so far.
The Originals had 2.2 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, up 22 percent from last week and helping give The CW its biggest Tuesday night in four years. Supernatural was largely steady.
Here’s what else happened: On ABC, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still dropping — down 7 percent. That needs to stop. New comedy The Goldbergs is now officially in trouble, down 16 percent — now that family has a reason to yell at each other. Fellow freshman Trophy Wife is down 7 percent, even lower than Goldbergs.
Ohh: Fox’s Dads went up in the ratings. Muahahaha! Don’t worry, the Dads rating is still dreadful, but that rise is definitely interesting. Fellow newcomer Brooklyn Nine-Nine was steady — that’s good, too, at least it stopped falling. Returning shows New Girl slipped and Mindy Project were steady.
NBC’s Biggest Loser premiere was down 27 percent to have its lowest-rated premiere ever. The Voice, now shifted to 9 p.m., was up sharply from last week’s clip show. Chicago Fire was up 14 percent given its stronger lead-in. CBS dramas were, on average, slightly higher this week.
