Can’t afford theater tickets? No problem. On Oct. 23, NCM Fathom Events, in partnership with CinemaLive and Digital Theatre, will screen a filmed version of a recent West End revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s 1981 musical, Merrily We Roll Along. For just one night, it’ll hit 460 movie theaters across the country. (Tickets are available at fathomevents.com.)

Fathom has already successfully brought sporting events, concerts, ballet, and the opera to the silver screen, as well as the 2011 Tony-winning musical Memphis. Though a Fathom exec, Shelly Maxwell, couldn’t announce further upcoming stage productions, she did stress the company’s commitment. ”We’re deeply entrenched in the theater culture,” she says. ”You will see more Broadway and West End theater on movie screens in 2014 for sure.”
