FX doing WWII miniseries with Danny Boyle

Posted on

FX’s exploration of the miniseries space continues.

The network announced today that Oscar-winning producers Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy and Christian Colson (of Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours) will produce a 10-part World War II miniseries called Telemark. It will mark the producers’ first project for American TV.

“We’re incredibly honored to be working with Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy and Christian Colson who are three of the best filmmakers in the world,” said Eric Schrier, president of original programming for FX, in a release. “Telemark is a compelling, powerful and important story, and we know Danny, Simon and Christian will do a masterful job producing it.”

Telemark, written by Beaufoy, is based on the true story of the British-trained Norwegian resistance fighters who sabotaged Hitler’s nuclear development program during World War II.

FX currently also has a miniseries adaptation of Fargo in the works, which will star Billy Bob Thorton and Bob Odenkirk.
