Our preview of the superhero series from this year’s Comic-Con

Posted on

The superhero saga wrapped up its first season with — quite literally — an earth-shattering finale, and the tremors will still be felt in season 2. ”Some people have suggested to me in interviews, ‘Now you guys will slow things down, right?”’ says exec producer Marc Guggenheim. ”The first four episodes are basically a statement that nothing could be further from the truth.” Besides bringing on a number of new characters, season 2 will find Richie Rich vigilante Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell, right) facing off against a new Big Bad. ”If last year was about Oliver going from being this vigilante on a mission of revenge to accepting his larger role in the city, this season is about how does he go from vigilante to hero?” says Guggenheim. Arrow’s digs will be getting an upgrade, as will his weapon of choice. ”[Last season] all of his equipment was old-school. This year it’s all very high-tech.” The action, adds Guggenheim, will pick up five months after the finale. ”There’s a feeling of evolution. We really want Arrow season 2 to feel like a sequel.”
