Last night several big acts, including Aerosmith and New Kids on the Block, came together for Boston Strong, a concert held to raise money for One Fund Boston, which supports victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Comedian Dane Cook also performed at the event, but he angered fans when he wouldn’t let his set to be part of the free livestream that other acts were allowing.
Explaining the decision, Cook tweeted:
Cook — who is no stranger to controversy, especially from comedy fans — has experienced a serious backlash on Twitter, seemingly because his message gives the impression he was using this benefit to try out new material. A rep for Cook didn’t reply to EW’s request for comment.
