NBC sportscaster Al Michaels was arrested Friday night in California on suspicion of drunk driving. According to Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department, Michaels made an illegal u-turn, was pulled over by police officers, and registered a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, in the range of 0.08 or greater. Michaels was ordered to appear in court on June 26.
“We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Al,” said NBC Sports, in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.” Inquiries to Michaels’ agent were not immediately returned.
