Godfather actor James Caan is stepping into an ABC sitcom.
The acclaimed veteran actor has been cast in an untitled single-camera comedy pilot ordered by the network.
Here’s the pitch: “When Terry Gannon, a recently divorced, single mother, temporarily moves in with her estranged father, a beer swilling former baseball player, she reluctantly starts coaching her son’s underdog little league team and is drawn back into the world of sports she vowed to leave behind.”
The estranged father is Caan’s character Terry Sr. The project is written and by Mark & Robb Cullen, who also did Las Vegas — Caan’s previous TV series regular role. Aaron Kaplan is attached as an executive producer.
