Hollywood for Sale: One Kings Lane hosts 'The New Normal' set sale

Just as The New Normal is based on co-creator Ryan Murphy’s life, the sets for Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David’s (Justin Bartha) house are near replicas of Murphy’s own abode, a Spanish Colonial Revival he bought from Diane Keaton — with whom he shares a similar design aesthetic — in 2010.

Thanks to flash-sale site One Kings Lane, fans who share Murphy and Keaton’s enthusiasm for home decor can shop for props straight from the set of The New Normal and more Monterey style pieces selected by the series’ production designer and set decorator.

“The wonderful thing about [Bryan and David’s] house is that it stays true to its original Spanish Colonial style, but it has a playful, whimsical, quirky side to it—like the characters, and like Diane Keaton, whose aesthetic was a huge inspiration for the set,” production designer Tony Fanning told One Kings Lane.

Brightly colored Bauer pottery, and Bryan’s Sing director’s chair are among the more than 100 items plucked from the set by Fanning and set decorator Bryan Venegas. In addition to the props, the sale will also include furniture, art and accent pieces inspired by the laid-back Monterey style seen on the show.

The One Kings Lane New Normal set sale kicks off tonight at 9pm EST. All proceeds will support Habitat for Humanity’s Build Movement an effort to provide decent, affordable housing to people around the world.

The New Normal airs on NBC Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30c.
