Newlyweds Chummy and Nurse Jenny navigate their first Christmas together at Nonnatus House, in an episode that sets the stage for the season 2 premiere in March.

MONDAY, Dec. 31

New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark, ABC, 8 p.m.

Fergie and Jenny McCarthy host a special tribute to the late Rockin’ Eve host, who died last April. Guests include Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jason Aldean, and Neon Trees.

TUESDAY, Jan. 1

Dance Moms, Lifetime, 9 p.m.

Abby is back to terrorize more young dancers in her Pittsburgh class, while their mothers watch on — only making matters worse with their bickering, backstabbing, and fighting.

WEDNESDAY, Jan. 2

Sugar Bowl, ESPN, 8:30 p.m.

The Florida Gators (11 – 1) take on the Louisville Cardinals (10 – 2) in New Orleans.

THURSDAY, Jan. 3

Buckwild, MTV, 10 p.m.

FRIDAY, Jan. 4

Portlandia, IFC, 10 p.m.

The third season of Fred Armisen’s critically lauded show about hipsters in Portland premieres.

SATURDAY, Jan. 5

NFL Playoffs, NBC, 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Two wild-card games will be played to determine who advances in the NFL playoffs.

SUNDAY, Jan. 6

Downton Abbey, PBS, 9 p.m.

The British series returns for a third season hot on the heels of the news that this will be star Dan Stevens’ last year with the show. So what will become of Matthew and Mary?
