Phoenix fans who are still stuck in “1901” can set their sights on a new date: April 2013.
The French indie rockers have finished recording their new album in Paris, Rolling Stone reports. Daniel Glass, head of the band’s label Glassnote, announced the news yesterday at a Spotify event. The record will be their first since 2009’s breakout hit Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which won a Grammy and charted the singles “Lisztomania” and “1901.”
The group have been working on the new record, called TPC according to the band’s website, since 2011. Members have stated in interviews that it will stray from Wolfgang’s pop sensibility: “It’s very experimental, it’s very minimal music,” lead singer Thomas Mars told Pedestrian.tv.
