Last week at New York Comic-Con, attendees got to see a blood-spattered trailer for next year’s Evil Dead remake. That trailer has finally arrived online, in all its cheek-slashin’, flesh-burnin’, hand-choppin’, gore-explodin’ glory. (Also: A tree gets a little handsy with Suburgatory star Jane Levy.) Fans of the Evil Dead series will note plenty of references to the original trilogy, but director Fede Alvarez looks to be eschewing Sam Raimi’s horror-slapstick style in favor of pure unrelenting terror images. Watch the video below, but beware: You should probably not watch what happens at 1:19 if you have any intention of eating lunch in the next few days.
