CBS 'The Talk' posts double-digit gains among gals

Good news for the women of CBS’ The Talk: For the week ending Oct. 5, the hour-long chatfest posted across-the-board increases in viewers and female demos versus the comparable week last year.

The show hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood averaged 2.25 million last week — up 23% from 2011. It also posted a 25% gain in women 18-34 (0.5/03 from 0.4/2). Season-to-date, The Talk is up 19% in viewers (2.3 million from 1.9 million), 11% in women 25-54 (1.0/6 from 0.9/5), and 25% in women 18-34 (.5/3 from .4/2).

In the network talk show race, The View remains the most watched at 3.3 million, down 11 percent from last year. It’s averaging a 1.3 in women 25-54, down 19%. The Chew is averaging 2.2 million, up 5% versus 2.1 million, and a .9 in 25-54, down 18%.
