Ghost sex: all the kids are doing it!
Okay, maybe not, but some kids are doing it. Now that Ke$ha has come out of the supernatural closet by telling the world about her sexual ghost encounter, we realized that there’s been a lot of pop-culture instances of such relations.
Here are some of our favorite incidents of ghost sex:
Ke$ha in “Supernatural”: She says the song is “about experiences with the supernatural, but in a sexy way.” Sample lyrics include “Boy, this love is supernatural/Can you feel it,” which is a good question — can one feel ghost sex? We’re not sure, but maybe giving the song a listen will help:
Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost: This is probably the most iconic instance of man-ghost love. In the steamy story, deceased banker Sam Wheat (Swayze) and his living lady Molly Jensen (Moore) don’t quite consummate their ghostly relationship, but they do share a kiss.
Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray in Ghostbusters: The 1984 comedy featured a couple of racy scenes: one in which Murray’s character nearly gets seduced by a sexy poltergeist played by Sigourney Weaver, and another in which it’s implied that Akroyd receives fellatio from a ghost.
Connie Britton in American Horror Story: The whole first installment of this “miniseries” revolves around a shocking scene in the first episode, aired in 2011, when Britton’s Vivien Harmon unwittingly has sex with the ghost of Tate Langdon (Evan Peters). On top of that, Vivien’s philandering husband Ben (Dylan McDermott) is almost always resisting the urge to get it on with the age-shifting, afterlife’d maid.
Katherine Heigl and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Grey’s Anatomy: This romance (2008-9) is probably more accurately described as hallucinotory lovemaking with a dead person, but come on, that’s basically as real as ghost sex. I mean, just look at what happens in the 8:43 mark of the following video:
