They’re soooooo posh and popular on Downton Abbey, but were the lads and lasses from the soapy PBS Brit drama just not stylish enough for E!’s pre-Emmys live red carpet show?

Where were they? Fans on EW’s liveblog were furious about the no-shows.

“I am mad about the lack of PBS on the carpet,” wrote Simone Francois, on EW’s liveblog.

Commenter Dobby added, “Is the cast of Downton Abbey even there yet? It’s making me nervous.”

A liveblog poster with the handle Mr. Featherbottom wrote, “Maggie Smith probably isn’t there. She never comes to Hollywood for awards shows.”

Come on, Downton Abbey‘s nominated for 16 awards — 16! — at Sunday’s 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

It turns out at the very least the men of the show, including patriarch Jim Carter, were interviewed on the Nokia red carpet;  NBC L.A. even tweeted a pic. Michelle Dockery, nominated for a lead actress Emmy, and Joanne Froggatt, nominated for a supporting actress award, also showed up on the carpet, in strapless sleek gowns, talking to other reporters. Also not seen on E!? Sherlock hottie Benedict Cumberbatch.

Emails to an NBC Universal spokesperson for comment were not immediately returned.
