File under: No surprise at all. Celebrities are getting into hot water on Twitter over the Republican National Convention.
Today’s 140-character fueled feud is between Clay Aiken and Big & Rich singer John Rich. Aiken tweeted, “Playing drinking game with my brother now. We drink every time we see a black person on screen at the RNC convention. #soberasamormon”
Can you guess which part made Rich upset? Surprise! It was the whole thing. Rich fired back (multiple times) on Twitter, writing, “”@clayaiken:@cowboytroy We drink every time we see a black person at the RNC//CLAY! You should be ashamed for racist comments like THAT!WOW.”
“I wonder how long it will be till @clayaiken takes that idiotic post down. Clay, you’re better than that…I hope. Sincerely, JR” Rich continued.
“And to finish it off, @clayaiken hashtags soberasamormon? I thought your charity was for inclusion, not EXCLUSION. What happened?” the country singer added.
Rich knows all about Aiken’s charity work — he’s referencing Aiken’s The National Inclusion Project — because they both appeared as contestants on The Celebrity Apprentice. Aiken was runner-up last season, and Rich won the 2011 cycle.
But Aiken didn’t stop with Rich’s exclusion dig – Aiken’s tweet hasn’t been deleted, and he responded to Rich’s claim by saying, “My charity is. Why isn’t your party? ;-)”
Agree to disagree? The spat may continue tonight if fellow reality-show star Donald Trump is the rumored surprise convention guest. Something tells me Aiken will have plenty to say about that.
