The planner is heavy on sports this week — and the Olympics don’t even start until July 27. From Serena Williams making an appearance on Drop Dead Diva, to the MLB All-Star Game, fans will be pleased. But don’t worry — there’s something for everyone, even the children. Check out what’s going on this week!

Sunday, July 8

Drop Dead Diva, Lifetime, 9 p.m.

Wimbledon may be over, but you can watch Serena Williams get tough on a different kind of court. Williams guest stars as a divorce attorney in the latest episode of Drop Dead Diva. As a bonus, Brandy and Joan Rivers also appear.

Monday, July 9

The Bachelorette, ABC, 8:00 p.m.

Emily takes the final three bachelors on a trip to Curacao where there are sure to be romantic dates, kissing, tears and much more.

Tuesday, July 10

The MLB All-Star Game, FOX 7:00 p.m.

Unlike other professional sports’ all-star games, this one actually means something. The winner decides home-field advantage in the World Series, which is a tiny bit annoying and unfair — but at least it means you didn’t just spend three and a half hours watching a game that has no consequences.

Wednesday, July 11

The ESPY Awards, ESPN, 8:00 p.m.

Tune in to find out if  LeBron James’ stellar play in the NBA finals is enough to earn him the Athlete of the Year honor at the 2012 ESPY Awards. And with Rob Riggle hosting, you’ll have a good laugh, too.

Thursday, July 12

Comic-Con Begins

San Diego will be filled with geeks in costume (and EW staffers) from July 12-15 to attend the final Twilight panel, run a Walking Dead obstacle course, and to rub shoulders with a superhero or two and of course, to hoard comic books galore.

Friday, July 13

Can You Survive a Horror Movie? Chiller, 9 p.m.

Spend your Friday the 13th watching the new special on Chiller that will pit its three hosts against classic scary-movie scenarios, like being attacked by zombies and being buried alive. As the Boy Scouts say: Be prepared!

Saturday, July 14

An American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars, NBC, 8 p.m.

Those of us who grew up with American Girl dolls are probably asking who McKenna is right about now. But younger girls will surely know about the gymnast whose dream is to win Olympic gold in 2016.

Sunday, July 15

Breaking Bad, AMC, 10:00 p.m.

What’s next for Walt and Jesse after Gus Fring’s death? Will Jesse find out how evil his partner has become? Can Hank catch his brother-in-law? How many times will Aaron Paul say “bitch”? We can’t wait to find out as the first half of the fifth and final season premieres.
