With all the young Turks on the radio boasting about their Jagger-ian moves and party-rocking prowess, the Hives have returned to remind us the Swedes do it better.
The ever-reliable, ever-monochromatic garageniks released another set of guitar-powered adrenaline with this week’s Lex Hives, and EW has the exclusive premiere of the clip for lead single “Go Right Ahead” here.
The black-and-white video, directed by a Stockholm duo known as Bold Faces (they were a punk band before going into film and graphics), has the group donning their finest tuxes and top hats for a fantastical zeppelin ride.
(Fun fact: Did you know the Empire State Building once imagined itself as a zeppelin dock? Think of all the rock shows that could’ve been!)
“Let me just start by saying it was a hell of a hassle getting warp drive to work on a zeppelin,” frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist tells EW. “When we realized the trick was to have cross dressers pull it up to speed, we were both puzzled and pleased.”

Almqvist also threatened helpless Americans by telling us his band will be “coming to destroy your town soon.” The following cities are formally on notice:
