SIDE DISHES

I know the NCIS EP said Gibbs and Dr. Ryan said goodbye, but is there ANY chance of her coming back next season. I loved those two kids together. — Farrah

So did I. And executive producer Gary Glasberg seemed relatively sure that it will be some time before we see Dr. Ryan again — but the door is definitely open. “The opportunity is still there — the chance is still there. We’ll have to see. Story-wise, the mystery of her ex-husband being released from prison is still out there, and it’s certainly something we could pick up again,” he says.

Thanks for the Teen Wolf tease last week, but you mentioned you still had an episode to watch. Anything good you can give us from that one? — B.

The second episode of the season has a true “WTF was that?” moment that I’m excited to see play out through the rest of the season. And I’m not referring to an event so much as a…creature.

I know everyone’s asking about who dies in the #Nikita finale. Is there anything they can tease for Season 3? — @Sesheta2011

Well, I have scoop on many levels for you then. First, the lovely Maggie Q tells me that the death will have a HUGE effect on the third season. “It was time. It was time for Nikita to face her [issues], and without loss, I don’t think she can move forward. I know that sounds weird but it’s one of those things where you’ve got to lose to gain,” she says. She shares that — as part of the bigger picture — the show is looking to do more standalone episodes in the third season in order to make the series a little more friendly to new viewers. “I always thought that our show is something people have to find. It’s not typical for this network at all. They’ve never done a show like this, and I don’t think people tune into the CW to see a show like this. But if they really liked it, they would tune in.” So there, FIND IT, people!

Hart of Dixie!! PLEASE!! — Sue

Think the wait for season 2 is bad now? Just imagine how I felt after Wilson Bethel told me about his second season hopes: “Ideally there will be a lot more sex in season 2, just a lot more boning.” Yes. Please.

So with the unfortunate cancellation of Awake, can we expect any closure from the finale? Or will it follow the pattern of other NBC cancellations (The Event, Journeyman, My Own Worst Enemy to name a few) that left us with more questions than answers? — Jon

My hunch? Lots of questions will remain after the second part of next week’s season finale. But if all goes according to plan, my colleague Mandi Bierly might be able to get some answers for you when she chats with a well-informed insider. So shoot your questions to spoilerroom@ew.com, and I’ll make sure she gets them.

The HIMYM season finale ending was AMAZING!! I probably reacted exactly like that crazy girl on the video. But I’m curious if Quinn will be back next season since her new pilot was picked up. — Val

First, Goodwin Games looks fantastic, right?! Second, rest assured, it won’t keep her from finishing her arc on HIMYM. And, yes, it’s far from over. As you’ll recall, Barney’s wedding was a flash forward. There is still the issue of the present to deal with, and executive producer Craig Thomas assured me this week that she will be back. For how many episodes? That’s less set at this point. (Side note: In case you missed it, here’s Tanner Stransky’s post-finale chat with Thomas.)

I’m slinking in here to shamefully ask for some Franklin & Bash scoop. — Michelle* (*My name has been changed to protect my identity.)

“Michelle,” you needn’t feel any shame for enjoying this TNT legal comedy, especially considering its stars are such a hoot. The second season promises to bring more fun as Franklin and Bash are made equity partners and, as Mark-Paul Gosselaar told me at the TNT upfront, they find themselves dealing with more responsibility. “There are a lot more high-profile cases, and now, instead of just representing the underdog, which they were notorious for, they’re now representing the guys they’ve always gone up against — the CEOs, the people who can bring in company. So they’re struggling with how to stay true to themselves and how to stay true to the ways of the past that have brought them to this point. But with that, there’s more drama, and they combat that with a lot of humor,” he says.

Scandal’s finale was amazing!!! But who the heck is Quinn?! — Sara

Here’s what I will tell you, per executive producer Shonda Rhimes: Even ABC didn’t know right away. “Everyone at the network is like, ‘Who’s Quinn Perkins!’ And I [said], ‘Renew us for season 2 and I’ll tell you!’” Rhimes told me. And now that ABC took the plunge and ordered a sophomore outing, looks like the next move is hers!

Sandra! Were you at the USA upfront party? If so, PLEASE tell me you got some Covert Affairs scoop! — Madison

Indeed, I didn’t just spend all my time snuggling with Matt Bomer. (Though I would have happily.) I also got a very important Covert Affairs tip from an insider: You won’t have to wait long for shirtless Auggie! I hear the third episode of the new season (which kicks off July 10) is a very emotional Auggie-centric hour — that also features some skin!

SO excited about the Grimm season finale tonight. Scoop? — Jane

More like an announcement: Make sure you shoot me ALL your burning questions after tonight’s season finale. I’ll be chatting with executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf in the next few days, and I’d love to hit them with your post-finale questions! Send ’em to spoilerroom@ew.com.

Been anxiously awaiting this interview with Stana Katic. You did NOT disappoint. :-D — @Boock76

You’re making me blush! As a thanks, what about some Castle scoop about the show’s other big couple: Ryan and Esposito! As you’ll recall, the season-ender found the twosome on the outs after Esposito backed Beckett over his partner, leading to his suspension. So how long before our favorite bromance is back on good terms? Jon Huertas thinks it shouldn’t take too long. “If I know [executive producer] Andrew Marlowe, I think he will probably have us [friends again] by the end of the first episode, scene 5,” he said. But it won’t be easy. “He will probably have that seed of distrust planted. I probably won’t trust Ryan as I much did before,” Huertas adds.
