The great life of Meagan Good

She follows up ”Californication” with a standout role in ”Think Like a Man”

Posted on

In Think Like a Man, Meagan Good plays a romance-seeking woman who tangles with a date-’em-and-dump-’em lothario (Romany Malco). Earlier this year she did a season-long arc on Showtime’s Californication opposite David Duchovny’s inveterate womanizer. What’s up with her characters having bad luck with men? ”It’s been a bit of a recurring theme,” says the actress, 31. ”But the good thing for my character in Think Like a Man is that she learns how to deal with these kinds of guys.” Luckily for Good, she doesn’t have to worry about her own love life: Last month she got engaged to Sony exec DeVon Franklin. Add to that Notorious, the detective pilot she’s currently shooting for NBC, and Good’s year is shaping up to be a swell one. But don’t think she hasn’t paid her dues. ”I died in, like, three horror movies in a row,” says the actress, who last bit the dust on screen in Saw V. ”It’s been crazy, but wonderful. This is what I’ve been working for.”
