'Saturday Night Live' host poll: Sofia Vergara giggles and jiggles

Saturday Night Live took an extended vacation after Jonah Hill‘s March 10 hosting gig, so when Sofia Vergara took the stage this past weekend, fans were eager to welcome her with open arms — though hopefully not with pulled-down pants, as she joked in her monologue. You suspected the show was going to acknowledge her thick accent and her deep cleavage, and the writers simply couldn’t resist such low-hanging fruit. (This is not necessarily a complaint.)

Vergara will need some goodwill to have any chance of cracking this season’s Core Four, the quartet of hosts who have dominated our competition to determine the season’s best guest. Despite some good sketches and a hit movie in theaters, Jonah Hill managed only 9.4 percent of the vote, following Alec Baldwin, Ben Stiller, and Emma Stone out the door. Jimmy Fallon extended his lead over former cast mate Maya Rudolph, scoring 35.0 percent to her 22.1 percent. Melissa McCarthy stayed within striking distance, with 21.8 percent, while Daniel Radcliffe held off Hill’s challenge to stay in the mix with 10.8 percent.

Below, I’ve embedded one clip for each of the five remaining hosts, as reminders of their recent performances. How do you possibly grade them against each other, ignoring guest cameos and fluctuating writing? My rule of thumb: “Do I want to see them come back and host again next season?” At the very least, try to be objective and don’t reward or penalize a host for their latest movie or TMZ.com photo. It’s all about Saturday night. Vote below, and the four top vote getters will advance to compete against Josh Brolin on Saturday. Ultimately, we’ll crown the Saturday Night Liveliest host at the end of the season. Watch and vote below.
