Kate Winslet's hat trick

The Oscar winner and her A-list pals put their heads together to boost autism awareness in a new book, ”The Golden Hat: Talking Back to Autism”

Posted on

Kate Winslet flew around the world and invaded film sets to persuade her famous friends to snap a self-portrait wearing the actress’ favorite fedora, all for her book The Golden Hat: Talking Back to Autism, which benefits the charity she cofounded with her friend Margret Ericsdottir. Winslet met Ericsdottir and her son, Keli, who has severe nonverbal autism, while doing narration for a documentary about their struggle. One of Keli’s poems — about a golden hat that enables an autistic boy to speak — inspired the actress’ quest to compile photos and quotes from celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, and Justin Timberlake.
