Season finale round-up: Spoilers

Posted on

Season finales kick off in a little more than a month, but early intel is already trickling in.

CBS started the deluge of (official) scoop today by releasing plans for their scripted fare. Here’s what we know: [Spoiler Alert!]

SUNDAY, APRIL 29

The Good Wife (9 p.m. ET) — Martha Plimpton, whose show Raising Hope wrapped its second season last month, returns as Patti Nyholm and joins forces with Michael J. Fox’s Louis Canning to drive Lockhart & Gardner into bankruptcy. It’s safe to say they won’t go down without a (truly vicious) fight.

MONDAY, MAY 7

2 Broke Girls (8 p.m. ET) — In a one-hour episode, Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) go on a quest to meet Martha Stewart at a Manhattan gala. Do they succeed? Stewart is set to guest star, so…

TUESDAY, MAY 8

Unforgettable (10 p.m. ET) — Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) and her sometimes-Australian accent go to Syracuse, where she believes the man who murdered her sister has struck again.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9

CSI (10 p.m. ET) — If the reappearance of an “old foe” doesn’t sound juicy enough, expect to learn a lot more about Russell’s (Ted Danson) rocky history with Finlay (Elisabeth Shue). New information comes to light after a friend of the sheriff becomes the prime suspect in a brutal murder, and the investigation has “political fallout.”

THURSDAY, MAY 10

The Big Bang Theory (8 p.m. ET) — Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) makes his final preparations to launch into space. (Poll: Who will cry more if he leaves? Bernadette or Raj?)

FRIDAY, MAY 11

CSI: NY (9 p.m. ET) — Mac (Gary Sinise) is shot and fights for his life. Oddly, so is CSI: NY.

Blue Bloods (10 p.m. ET) — When Frank (Tom Selleck) learns about a possible terrorist attack, he races against the clock to prevent it. He will still likely make it home in time for dinner.

MONDAY, MAY 14

How I Met Your Mother (8 p.m. ET) — The identity of Barney’s wife is revealed as we go back to his wedding day, and the gang reminisces about “the time they encouraged Ted to follow his heart and go after the one that got away.” But that’s only part of what happens in this one-hour finale.

Two and a Half Men (9 p.m. ET) — Jake (Angus T. Jones) graduates and makes a huge decision about what to do with his life. The show is currently in the process of “preliminary discussions” for another season, so we’re guessing the specifics of that huge decision have some flexibility.

Mike & Molly (9:30 p.m. ET) — Mike (Billy Gardell) and Molly (Melissa McCarthy) have a wedding. But will they get married?

Hawaii Five-0 (10 p.m. ET) — “Five-0 goes on a manhunt when one of their own is killed in the line of duty,” according to the release. Sorry, that sounded too damn good to sully with snark.

TUESDAY, MAY 15

NCIS (8 p.m. ET) — The Navy faces a terrorist threat and the team will “face surprises that will devastate them.” Also, Jimmy Palmer gets married. He sounds so happy — no one gets killed on on such a joyful day, right?

NCIS: LA (9 p.m. ET) — In this two-hour season finale, the team takes on a criminal mastermind with revenge on his brain.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 16

Criminal Minds (9 p.m. — two hours) – Bye, Paget. Please don’t die. You already did that.

THURSDAY, MAY 17

Rules of Engagement (8:30 p.m. ET) — Russell (David Spade) gives up women with surprising consequences, and Jen (Bianca Kajlich) creates a baby-shower snafu.

Person of Interest (9 p.m. ET) — Finch (Michael Emerson), Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman) band together to help Reese (Jim Caviezel) after he finds himself trapped with his POI in the most heavily surveilled part of the city.

The Mentalist (10 p.m. ET) — Patrick Jane goes mental! Well, maybe. But that was our takeaway from this: “After another failed attempt to defeat Red John, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) hits rock bottom, finds a lover and shoots one of his own.”

More networks to come. In the meantime, check out Spoiler Room for more scoop.
