Kid Cudi, Dot da Genius talk new album WZRD, the charts, and guitar riffs -- Exclusive

Kid Cudi is having a pretty good year.

First, he was featured as an artist on The Hunger Games soundtrack with the rap/rock anthem “The Ruler and the Killer.” And just last week, Cudi and his producing partner Dot da Genius landed their self-titled WZRD collaboration at No. 3 on the Billboard albums chart, right behind Adele and Whitney Houston.

So how did the rapper and his producer pal celebrate? By spending the day (’n’ nite!) shooting a music video for “Teleport 2 Me, Jamie,” the WZRD album’s trippy lead single.

EW dropped by the set in Los Angeles to get the lowdown on Cudi’s latest move. Hear what the dynamic duo had to say below:
