'Spider-Man,' 'The Avengers' and more toys

Posted on

It’s time to embrace your inner child and celebrate toys! The International Toy Fair was in NYC over the weekend showcasing all of the hottest new items to debut later this year. For EW, that means scouring through a sea of playthings looking for hints about several of this year’s blockbuster hits. And even though we have to wait before these movies land in a theater near you, the toys inspired by the movies give us a glimpse at what we have to look forward to. If the toy version is cool, the movie should be cool, too, right? Or so the thinking goes.

THE AVENGERS (May 4) Earth’s mightiest heroes need Earth’s mightiest vehicle. So I present you with the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. The mobile battle station is more than 3 feet long and has room for more than 30 action figures, which means there’s plenty of space for the likes of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) all seen above. It’s the largest Marvel vehicle ever created by Hasbro.

LEGO has its own line of Avengers inspired products, too, including baddie Loki’s getaway off-roader and a S.H.I.E.L.D. fighter jet.

BATTLESHIP (May 18) Man your battle stations! The USS Missouri is the military’s last defense against the alien invasion. And although this USS Missouri, courtesy of Hasbro and Kre-O, comes at a much smaller scale, it still features double-barreled missile launchers, single-fire rocket launchers, and a deployable attack boat with gunner station.

MEN IN BLACK 3 (May 25) In the upcoming installment of Men in Black, Agent J (Will Smith) and Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) take on the alien villain, Boris (Jermaine Clement). Not much is known about the character, but here’s what he looks like, full beard and all.

UP NEXT: G.I. Joe and Spider-Man…
