With Stones-y swagger and Stooges sprawl, Kentucky’s Cage the Elephant ­easily capture the tumultuous dynamics of their two studio albums on their first live outing, Live From the Vic in Chicago. Ringmaster/singer Matt Shultz wails with controlled fury on radio-friendly shape-shifter ”Shake Me Down,” then releases his inner beast on an unhinged cover of Talking Heads’ ”Psycho Killer.” His raw ­onstage mania is so infectious that it comes across even without the accompanying DVD — the best measure of a transcendent ­frontman.
