'21 Jump Street' trailer

Posted on

There are plenty of reasons to be hopeful for next year’s 21 Jump Street movie. The film stars (and was co-written by) Jonah Hill, who’s coming off positive reviews and Golden Globe nomination for Moneyball. His co-star, Channing Tatum, appears to be preparing to make the leap from meathead action heroics to adorably self-aware meathead action heroics. And Jump Street marks the live-action debut of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller — which makes it oddly relevant in a period that also includes Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol and Andrew Stanton’s John Carter. The newest trailer for the movie emphasizes the film’s buddy-cop atmosphere while also mixing in some jokes about contemporary youth culture. It’s like watching the early 2000s make fun of the late 2000s! Watch the trailer:
