”It’s rare that women are written so three-dimensionally — that you have a protagonist who is a woman who’s not necessarily likable. Though I think she’s quite lovable. She’s not always fun to be around. She has such a high work ethic, and she tries so hard. I think that’s a wonderful quality. She just doesn’t give up. You can tell that even when she’s doing a terrible job at being a mother — and even a police officer — she’s just working at it with every bit of energy that she has.”
