An ode to love conquering all isn’t exactly a departure for Swift, but instead of fairy-tale princesses and sparkly dresses, she’s rocking the corporate-commuter look, with messy hair (new bangs!) and tennis shoes — and an iPad for sending love messages out during during office hours. Her life is in shades of gray — from the elevator to the break room, they’re all drones — except for the fun, brightly colored memories when she is with her man (that would be Friday Night Lights star Zach Gilford).
Kudos to Swift for putting out a slightly more adult, more realistic video that still captures that butterflies-in-your-stomach, crazy-in-love tone that she is so famous for.

I’ll admit it: I gasped at the twist ending with Swift rushing off from work not home, but to an airport to meet her military beau, presumably returning from overseas. Sweet, with just the right tinge of bittersweet sadness for the country-infused pop story.
Swift is no stranger to supporting military spouses; last year she was on Ellen meeting a fan married to a serviceman, and talked about how inspired their love story made her. Apparently, she really was.
