Posted on

Patrice O’Neal, envelope-pushing comedian, radio personality, and actor, passed away this morning at the age of 41. O’Neal had battled diabetes before he suffered a stroke in October. Some of O’Neal’s celebrity fans have taken to Twitter to express their sadness at his untimely passing. Some, like Judah Friedlander, Craig Robinson, and Eugene Mirman, only posted a simple “R.I.P. Patrice O’Neal.” Others considered his films and mourned a friend they wished they’d known better. See what they had to say below.

Colin Quinn: “Thanks to everybody for the Patrice ONeal comments. One of a kind. In heaven right now, charming half and infuriating half, then reversing.”

Seth Meyers: “RIP Patrice O’Neal. A day spent watching clips of him on-line is a day well spent.”

Donald Glover: “f***…..one of the funniest and smartest comedians ever. Rest in Peace Patrice O’Neal.”

Quest Love of The Roots: “so grateful i got to see Patrice Oneal do his last NYC gig. man this is so devastating. he truly was one of my favorite comics. RIP Patrice”

Patton Oswalt: “Yes, I’m serious. And very, very sad. #RIPPatrice”
