'American Music Awards' ratings: Taylor Swift attracts teens

Posted on

Ama Ratings
ABC

Taylor Swift may have won big on last night’s American Music Awards, but ABC can’t say the same.

The 39th annual AMAs delivered 12 million viewers and a 4.3 adults 18-49 ratings, steady with last year, but tying the show’s all-time ratings low. The upside: The AMAs had its biggest teen audience in seven years.

Also of interest in the ratings Sunday night: Fox’s new animated comedy Allen Gregory (4.8 million viewers, 1.9 rating) continues to sink, down 5 percent and putting quite a dent in the network’s lineup. NBC won the night with Sunday Night Football, which had a fairly typical 14.0 household rating. CBS ratings are messy due to football overrun pushing with the time periods, but it looks like Good Wife (9.7 million, 1.9) and CSI: Miami (8.9 million, 1.7) were fairly low.
