TLC orders new series: 'Extreme Couponing All-Stars'

Posted on

Extreme Couponing just got a little more extreme. EW can exclusively reveal that TLC has ordered an all-new seven-part series, Extreme Couponing All-Stars. The competition-themed show will feature 12 of the series’ best savers as they go head-to-head in a shopping challenge. Each couponer must buy $500 worth of items in only 30 minutes. Nothing can be full price, and the person with the highest percentage of savings is named the winner. The haul will then be donated. The series’ finale will show three super-savers battling it out in one store to ring up their victory.

“Saving money can be like a sport these days — taking careful planning and unwavering commitment,” said TLC general manager Amy Winter. “The cast of Extreme Couponing [is] very serious about being the best shoppers, and this will be a fun way to see who has what it takes to save the most.”

In addition to All-Stars, TLC will air two Extreme Couponing specials documenting the savings on Black Friday and the day after Christmas sales. The current season of Extreme Couponing airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m., and the season finale will air Nov. 23, with both couponers donating their purchases to Feeding America.
