Just what Showtime hoped for — more viewers are discovering Homeland. The conspiracy drama starring Claire Danes drew its biggest audience yet on Sunday, up 18 percent versus its premiere. The show averaged 1.8 million viewers at 10 p.m.
Dexter, in the meantime, built on its premiere by averaging 2.42 million viewers.
Showtime has already ordered a second season of Homeland, which focuses on a CIA officer who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of a U.S. soldier was a setup and connected to an Al Qaeda terrorist plot. Besides Danes, the series stars Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin and is from Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa.
