Fall TV Tuesdays: What to watch? What to DVR?

Posted on

It all comes down to a heartbroken hipster and an ex-vampire slayer. For me, Tuesdays have generally been non-essential TV nights (sorry Gleeks!), but that changes this year thanks to New Girl and Ringer, two shows that are as promising as they are different. Unfortunately, they fall into the same time slot, which means one must inevitably end up on my DVR. Find out which one below and then share what you plan to watch on Tuesday nights in the comments!

8 p.m. – 9 p.m.

LIVE: Glee (Fox): OK, so I haven’t been the best Glee fan, but with all the talk about how this season could be the last for some characters, a nightly tune-in may prove worthwhile, no? (Premieres Sept. 20)

DVR: Nothing: Don’t get me wrong, there are some perfectly good shows on during this time-slot (NCIS, Biggest Loser and 90210 to name a few…), but I haven’t been keeping up with any them. Maybe they made it on to your list though?

9 p.m. – 10 p.m.

LIVE: Ringer (CW): As much as I adore Zooey Deschanel’s quirky new comedy, SMG has had my loyalty since the slayer days. (Premiered Sept. 13)

DVR: New Girl & Raising Hope (Fox): While I’m tempted to watch the latest celeb two-stepping their way through Dancing With the Stars, Fox’s comedy lineup is simply too charming to turn down. Side note: I’ll probably have to revisit my allegiances once ABC’s Apt. 23 and Cougar Town debut in this slot later in the season. So much comedy, so little room on my DVR! (Premieres Sept. 20)

10 p.m. – 11 p.m.

LIVE: Unforgettable (CBS): Though it’s tempting to end my night with something light like Parenthood, this new drama about an ex-detective who can remember the details of everyday of her life, except the day her sister was murdered, may just be worth the nightmares. (Premieres Sept. 20)

DVR: Nothing: As a self-proclaimed TV lover, I kind of feel like I’m slacking here, but I’m content enough with my list that I don’t want to tack on additional shows just for the sake of doing so.

Now it’s your turn PopWatchers. What do you plan to watch on Tuesdays this fall? Are there any shows that I’m missing out on?
