Lady Gaga tries to cheer up Lisa on 'The Simpsons'

Gaga brings her flame-throwing bustier to Springield in spring 2012

If you thought Lady Gaga was animated before, just wait until you catch her this season on The Simpsons: The singer will play herself in a spring 2012 episode. (Well, at least the version of herself who can cry tiny diamonds.) In ”Lisa Goes Gaga,” which airs next spring, Gaga drops by Springfield after learning that its residents have the lowest self-esteem in the world, and attempts to restore hope to a demoralized Lisa through the power of speech, song, and a flash mob. Gaga, an unabashed Simpsons fan, says she ”couldn’t wait” to record a guest spot when the show came calling, but interestingly enough, she didn’t voice any creative/sartorial preferences. ”I really just wanted to be interpreted through the eyes of the creators of the show,” she tells EW. ”I was excited to see what scenarios and circumstances they came up with. I really just love what they did.” That includes a Gaga Express train powered by a flame-shooting bustier, and a lip-lock with…Marge! ”I play a little bit of a slut,” Gaga quips. ”The apple doesn’t fall far from my artistic tree.”
