Estella Warren pleads no contest, gets six months in residential rehab

Posted on

Actress Estella Warren (2001’s Planet of the Apes) has pleaded no contest to a DUI charge Friday. People reports Warren — who was arrested this Spring when she crashed her car into three other vehicles — was ordered to check into a residential rehab facility for six months and will serve probation for five years. A future court hearing, set for Oct. 7, will decide whether or not the actress will pay restitution.

Following her arrest in May, Warren was charged with hit and run, drunken driving, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer. (Hit and run, battery, and resisting arrest charges were later dropped.) Said Warren in a statement released to press: “I take my actions and their consequences very seriously. I can’t express enough how grateful I am that no one was injured or hurt. Moving forward I am focusing all my efforts on my career, my family and being a good influence [on] others.” The incident in May marks the second time Warren found herself in trouble for drunk driving — she was previously convicted of the charge in 2007.
