Lady Gaga sued, Gavin DeGraw assaulted, and more

Actor Ethan Hawke, 40, and his wife, Ryan, welcomed their second child, a girl named Indiana, in late July. The couple have another child, Clementine Jane, 3, while Hawke has two children with ex-wife Uma Thurman: Maya, 13, and Levon, 9.

Engaged
Fashion designer and Project Runway judge Michael Kors, 52, obtained a marriage license with boyfriend Lance LePere in Manhattan on Aug. 3.

Splits
Former Melrose Place star Grant Show, 49, and his wife, actress Pollyanna McIntosh-Show, 32, filed for divorce on July 25, citing ”irreconcilable differences.”

Injured
Singer Gavin DeGraw, 34, on tour with Maroon 5 and Train, was taken by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital for treatment after he was assaulted on Aug. 8 in New York City.

Courts
OutKast rapper Big Boi, 36, was arrested in Miami on Aug. 7 on multiple felony drug charges when police claimed they discovered Ecstasy and Viagra in baggage with his name on it. According to his lawyer, ”[Big Boi] will be exonerated.” He is due in court on Sept. 6…. Pop provocateur Lady Gaga, 25, was sued by Chicago-based singer Rebecca Francescatti, who claims that Gaga ripped off her 1999 song ”Juda” to create the track ”Judas.”…. On July 29, rapper Lil Wayne, 28, was slapped with a $15 million copyright infringement lawsuit by Done Deal Enterprises, which claims that Wayne stole the song ”BedRock,” a 2010 hit single featuring Young Money stablemates Drake, Lloyd, and Nicki Minaj, from the company. Done Deal claims that it created the track in June 2008…. Maroon 5 lead singer and The Voice coach Adam Levine, 32, sued Activision Publishing, Inc. on Aug. 4 for allegedly manipulating his avatar without his permission. Levine claims that he negotiated the use of his image for the videogame Band Hero to sing the song ”She Will Be Loved,” but that the game allows players to use his image to sing more than 60 other songs that Levine never authorized. He is seeking damages of an amount to be determined at trial.

Deaths
Platoon star Francesco Quinn, 48, the son of late actor Anthony Quinn, passed away on Aug. 5 in Malibu. The cause of death has not been determined…. Actress Annette Charles, 63, who famously portrayed Cha Cha DiGregorio in Grease, passed away on Aug. 4 from a nonsmoker’s lung cancer…. Football star and actor Charles ”Bubba” Smith (Police Academy) died on Aug. 3 of undetermined causes. He was 66 years old…. ”A Hundred Pounds of Clay” singer Gene McDaniels, 76, passed away on July 29 at his home in Maine.
