Yes, we know that Katy Perry really wants to beat Michael Jackson’s record for the most No. 1 hits from the same album, and now she might be getting the boost she needs from Missy Elliott, who just remixed Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”
This is especially exciting for supadupafans who’ve been following Elliott, since the rapper has been largely M.I.A. for the past few years.
She released a greatest hits collection in 2006 and has been working on a new album Respect M.E., but her last proper full-length was 2005’s The Cookbook.
In June, Elliott revealed that a long battle with Graves disease, an incurable disorder that affects the thyroid, had kept her out of the studio. “I couldn’t write because my nervous system was so bad,” she told Vibe. “I couldn’t even use a pen.”
But, wow, does she use that pen on the remix, which finds her working a stripper pole, getting so tipsy she loses her clothes, and waking up the next day to a “hella good morn!” from the guy in her bed. Listen to the full glory of her weekend after the jump:
