'Chainsaw' and Leatherface get a new target

New horror heroine Alexandra Daddario shows off her pipes

Posted on

Her name is Alexandra Daddario, and, lest fans be worried, she’s got the vocal prowess to star in Lionsgate’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. ”I’ve done a lot of screaming,” the 25-year-old actress, best known for last year’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, explains. ”I did a horror film called Bereavement a few years ago, so I think I can pull that off.” The seventh Chainsaw movie is not related to the 2003 remake starring Jessica Biel, but is a sequel to the original 1974 classic, in which Marilyn Burns‘ ”final girl” Sally was menaced by the crazed Leatherface and his equally deranged family. ”[My character] finds out she isn’t who she thought she was and discovers what she has to do with the family in the original [movie],” Daddario says of the film, which starts shooting with director John Luessenhop (Takers) later this month and is set for an October 2012 release date. ”It keeps you guessing. It’s more of a mystery than the original.”
