Nudity as marketing for a show about clothing? Counterintuitive. But just about anything’s possible with the help of sexy German supermodel-turned-Project Runway host Heidi Klum.
In a new ad for the ninth season of the Emmy-nominated Lifetime series, Klum boldly bids auf wiedersehen to both clothing and basic safety precautions. Is it just us, or does that pair of scissors look a little too close for comfort? (Boy, though. What some wouldn’t give to be that pair of scissors.) The sex appeal certainly isn’t lost on Klum herself – or her two most famous, uh, assets. “This is definitely sexier than past campaigns we’ve done,” she told People. “I guess you could say ‘Hans and Franz’ are celebrating season 9.” Mein Gott, wir lieben Deutschland.
Season 9 is set to premiere on July 28. The 90-minute format introduced last season seems to have surprisingly breathed new life into the show, putting it solidly on the road to recovery after its not-so-entertaining sixth and seventh seasons. (Remember that one episode… ? Yeah, neither do we.) We’re hoping this season, scheduled to feature appearances by celebrity judges including Kim Kardashian, Zoe Saldana, Christina Ricci, and Malin Akerman (“Children’s Hospital”), finds Project Runway continuing on the upswing. The mainstays – Klum and co-judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia – will return alongside ever-fabulous fashion sensei Tim Gunn.
